The Opportunity Join the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in a Teaching and Research role. As a Lecturer (Level B), you will have the opportunity to develop scholarly research and professional activities nationally and internationally, while contributing to teaching and service missions. As a Senior Lecturer (Level C), you will establish an internationally recognised research program, strengthen industry partnerships, and drive impactful research and innovations in thermo-mechanical engineering. This role reports to the Head of School and has no direct reports. Responsibilities Develop and pursue an active, internationally recognised research program in advanced manufacturing engineering. Contribute to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and participate in supervision of research students. Foster collaborations with industry and partners to drive impactful research and innovations in thermo-mechanical engineering. Engage in service activities within the School and Faculty. Qualifications Lecturer (Level B) : PhD in a relevant area (e.g., Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, Robotics). Demonstrated ability in modern manufacturing processes (advanced metals/composites, nano- and micro-fabrication, smart design for manufacturing, robotic manufacturing). Experience translating research to practical outcomes. Ability to develop online and blended teaching delivery. Strong communication and networking skills. Willingness to undertake UNSW health and safety training. Senior Lecturer (Level C) : PhD in a relevant area. Extensive experience in modern manufacturing technologies and translating research into practical outcomes. Proven success in attracting research funding. Experience with online/blended teaching delivery. Excellent communication and networking skills. Experience supervising research students. Commitment to UNSW health and safety policies and to UNSW aims and values. Details Salary: Lecturer – AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% super; Senior Lecturer – AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum + 17% super.
