As an Output Editor (OE) (news), you are a versatile expert blending technical competencies such as video editing with journalistic acumen, including a sharp news sense and scriptwriting abilities. You have a comprehensive understanding of IT and multimedia technology, which fortifies your role in leading the shift output team to produce broadcast‑quality news video content tailored for online and TV audiences, while adhering to our corporate standards. Key Responsibilities Establish seamless coordination with various departments, including Intake, Live, Client, and Social Media teams. Oversee the workflow within the Output Department, allocating Broadcast Journalists to different stories. Rigorously review and vet all content before publication, ensuring final copies meet approval standards. Uphold quality across all output during the shift, ensuring content is meticulously reported, well‑crafted, and aligns with overall standards. Facilitate training and mentorship programs for Broadcast Journalists to enhance their performance. Conceptualize, source, and compile production elements (video, sound) into a broadcast‑ready video package. Craft compelling headlines, titles, and scripts to accompany the edited packages. Support the Head of Newsroom and Deputy Head in conducting job performance evaluations and annual reviews of Broadcast Journalists. Qualifications and Skills Degree in Journalism, Political Science, or a related field. Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of other languages is a plus. Prior experience in the News Industry is a must. Prior experience as an Output Editor in international news is advantageous. Extensive experience in non‑linear editing is a must.
