Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Options Strategy Engineer to join our team. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing option pricing models, market-making strategies, and optimizing these strategies in actual crypto trading. Candidates should have a solid foundation in option pricing theory, extensive experience in option market-making strategies, and in-depth knowledge of crypto options.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Option Pricing Model Development: Conduct research and develop advanced option pricing models, including but not limited to the Black-Scholes model, stochastic volatility models, and non-parametric volatility (surface) models. Analyze market data based on market characteristics, optimize model parameters, and improve pricing accuracy.
  2. Market-making Strategy Design: Design and implement option market-making strategies, including determining the optimal bid-ask spread, developing efficient order placement algorithms, and monitoring strategy performance in real-time to ensure profitability and risk control.
  3. Strategy Backtesting and Optimization: Use statistical and machine learning techniques to identify market trends, optimize trading strategies, conduct strategy backtesting and review, and evaluate performance under different market scenarios.
  4. Risk Management: Identify and assess various risks associated with option trading, including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk. Develop risk management strategies and standard operating procedures (SOPs), and use hedging techniques, position management, and stop-loss orders to control risks.
  5. Cross-departmental Collaboration: Work closely with the trading and technology teams to ensure the smooth implementation of trading strategies. Provide support and training to team members on option pricing and trading strategies.

Requirements

  1. Education: Master's degree or above in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field. A Ph.D. is preferred.
  2. Professional Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in option trading, with a focus on option pricing and market-making strategies. Proven track record of successful trading strategies in a professional trading environment. Experience with crypto options is highly preferred.
  3. Technical Skills: Familiarity with C++, proficiency in Python, and the ability to quickly learn and iterate on option pricing models and data analysis models. Knowledge of crypto exchanges such as Deribit and OKX options.
  4. Analytical and Problem-solving Skills: Excellent quantitative analysis and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. Ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative trading strategies and solutions.
  5. Communication and Teamwork: Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.
  6. Other Qualifications: Strong interest and passion for financial markets and trading. Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality results on tight deadlines. Relevant professional certifications such as CFA or FRM are a plus.
