The University has established InnoHK Administration Office and the InnoHK Centers, hereafter named the ‘Establishments’, located at the Hong Kong Science Park. High performance, reliable & secure network & broadband Internet, office IT (wired & wireless) infrastructure and an audio-visual conference environment are implemented in the Administration Office and Laboratories for the daily needs of the administration and research activities.

The Office of Knowledge Transfer is looking for a capable individual in supporting the daily operation and management of the IT & audio-visual conference infrastructure implemented in the Establishments. The candidate will work independently under the direction of a designated person of InnoHK Administration Office and the Heads of the Establishments. The work location will be at the Hong Kong Science Park. Major responsibilities include:

working in partnership with the Establishments, the Information Technology Service Center and relevant units in the University in the delivery of IT support services to comply with the University’s IT policies and guidelines;
developing and implementing IT policies and procedures, collaborating with users in the InnoHK Centers to understand their IT needs and provide technical support and solutions, and identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes;
designing and implementing a workable Cyber Security Policy for a secure computing environment for the InnoHK Centers;
working with the Establishments and the Information Technology Service Center on security incident response handling and related analytics;
supporting the Cyber-Security Coordinators (CSC) as well as technical staff of the InnoHK Centers to meet minimum cyber security standards and facilitating the adoption of applicable cyber security technologies at the InnoHK Centers for a secure computing environment;
administering the Microsoft 365 and Azure-based IT infrastructure & servers including services like Azure Tenant management, AAD, Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint and Intune;
Providing installation, troubleshooting of OS & applications for desktop PC and notebooks, and handling general user services enquiries and support requests;
Assisting the administration and providing technical support of the high-performance computing servers for research activities in the Laboratories;
Providing front-line support such as fault isolation, troubleshooting, management of the wired and wireless (Wi-Fi) infrastructure, network connection and audio-visual conference systems;
Processing fault reports and coordinating with equipment suppliers/maintenance service providers regarding the fault incidents and maintenance services on the installed IT and AV devices;
Maintaining proper and clear documentation on moves and changes in the IT environments, equipment inventory and maintenance records, etc. in various Establishments;
Advising on and assisting the purchase of IT hardware and software to meet the Establishment’s business needs; and
Performing other IT support duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or equivalent;
Proven experience as an IT Manager or in a similar role, with at least eight years of relevant work experience;
Experience in desktop computer software, digital A/V and video conferencing technologies;
Additional experience in IT security and policies will be an advantage;
Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure and network administration;
Proficiency in software and hardware troubleshooting and familiarity with data security and privacy;
Knowledge in Azure cloud, M365, network technologies and Linux;
Holder of the following certificates or related is an advantage:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
- Microsoft 365 certified: Fundamentals
- VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualisation
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Networking: Ciso Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent; Good communication and internal skills;
Proactiveness, self-initiation, good analytical, problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies and ability to work under pressure; and
Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua).

(Duration: 2 years; renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
