The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager (AI-VR Project) to join our thriving project team under a three-year project entitled “AI-assisted Virtual Reality English Public Speaking Program for Secondary Students”. This project has been awarded HK$30.4 million in teaching and learning funding from the e-Learning Ancillary Facilities Programme under the Quality Education Fund (QEF).

Role Overview
Reporting to Principal Investigators and Co-Principal Investigators, the Project Manager (AI-VR Project) will be responsible for overseeing and managing a diverse range of teams and projects, reporting progress to QEF, and promoting the adoption of the AI-VR English speaking programme to more secondary schools and the wider community. The appointee is expected to:

Manage and oversee multiple project teams from inception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, and within scope and budget;Coordinate with project stakeholders, including researchers, faculty members, external collaborators and QEF to ensure clear communication and alignment of goals;Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, progress reports and result assessments;Identify and apply for further relevant government grants, ensuring that proposals are well-researched, accurate and compelling;Manage the grant submission process, including the preparation of budgets, progress reports and other required documentation;Actively seek out funding opportunities and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of government grant programs;Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the adoption of the AI-VR English speaking programme, including creating content for social media, press releases and public presentations; andCoordinate conferences, workshops and other relevant events.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of post-qualification work experience preferably in tertiary institutions. They should have strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills with an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua). They should also be very detail-minded and possess a keen interest in handling data and written work. Experience in project management and knowledge of research administration in higher education is preferred. Applicants with less experience will also be considered. (Duration: 6 months)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.
