Major Duties
: (a) To assist the Academic Director / Campus Principal in the management, planning and development of the Discipline / Campus; (b) To lead and manage an academic department to ensure effective and efficient utilisation of resources; (c) To oversee the academic planning, programme development and accreditation under the respective Programme Boards of the Business Discipline, and to support and coordinate the overall development and implementation of the Discipline initiatives; (d) To play a leading role in one or more strategic areas of the Business Discipline, such as Non-local Student Admission, Mainland Development, Workplace Learning and Assessment, Project-based Learning, and other initiatives aligning with the development of the Council, such as the Vocational Professionals Admission Scheme (VPAS); (e) To explore and maintain close contacts with industry, professional bodies and other educational institutions in the Mainland for establishing collaborative arrangement, and ensuring the relevance and excellence of Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET); (f) To work closely with the other academic departments to ensure effective and quality delivery of academic programmes; (g) To explore new opportunities, such as developing consultancy, corporate training programmes or top-up degree programmes; and (h) To perform teaching duties and/or supervise student projects where necessary. Requirements : (a) A recognised degree and a post-graduate qualification, or equivalent, in relevant professional field(s), preferably with relevant professional qualifications; (b) At least 8 years’ relevant experience at an appropriate level of responsibility, preferably with knowledge of and experience in the aviation and logistics sectors, project management in the Mainland and/or collaborative partnership with Mainland institutions/entities; (c) Strong networking capability for organisational development and be able to establish and foster strategic working relationships with leading companies or professional bodies in the industry; (d) Management experience in implementation of new initiatives/development of projects at the academic discipline level; (e) The ability to lead projects and work under pressure; and (f) Good presentation skills and a high level of proficiency in Chinese, English and Putonghua. Notes : (1) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. (2) Shortlisted candidate(s) will be required to take a written assessment. (3) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal working hours and/or outside campus.-
