Responsibilities for Resident Building Services Engineer:

Liaise and co-ordinate with the client, Head Office and contractors on matters related to building services work details, materials and workmanship, statutory compliance and issues related to site progress.Supervise and lead Building Services Inspection Team for the participation of T&C, mockup inspections, factory inspection, etc.Review and fine tune the design and shop drawings with the contractors to match with the actual site conditionsReport and resolve design or installation problems or site difficultiesMonitor and report the performance of contractors and workmanship on building services aspectMonitor the progress of works and attend regular site/co-ordination or ad-hoc meetingsProvide on-site prompt responses to the Contractor’s technical queriesProvide site records/ evidence to support the client and Head Office on assessment of contractor’s claim for extension of work, or works disruption on building service aspectsAssist in vetting of building services variation worksRegular reporting to Head Office and support preparation to the Project Engineer / Project Manager in reporting of site progress is requiredAny other services as required by the client and Head Office for execution of the services

Responsibilities for Resident Building Services Inspector / Resident Assistant Building Services Inspector / Work Supervisor (Building Services):

Attend site and co-ordination meetings, and provide on-site responses to contractors’ technical queries Carry out duties in all aspects of supervision of building services work on site within the contracts and the maintenance of site recordsComment and monitor the installation programme, submission schedule, T&C related documents submitted by contractorsWitness and report the acceptance of T&COversee, inspect, test and examine the materials, the workmanship, installation method and procedures for all building services works and ensure they are in compliance with the requirements, specification and drawingsReview, validate, provide comments and endorse the T&C reports, shop drawings, materials, samples, method statements, etc. submitted from the Contractor and arrange necessary rectification worksAssist in resolving site/construction problems and conflicts among various trades in relation to building services matters and overall construction process Assist Client and Head Office for handover of the completed works to project ownersCheck and update the daily labour strength and works activities on siteProvide the outstanding and defect list and report the progress of completion of outstanding works & rectification of defectsMonitor the progress of works and provide site progress reports, and assist the client and Head Office/ Resident Building Services Engineer on assessment of Contractor’s claim for extension of time or works disruption on building services aspectsAssist the client and Head Office/ Resident Building Services Engineer in vetting of the building services variation worksRegular reporting to Head Office and support preparation to the Project Engineer / Project Manager/ Resident Building Services Engineer in reporting of site progress is required for RBSI / ABSIAny other services as required by the client and Head Office for execution of the services

Other qualifications and experience required for the positions:

Resident Building Services Engineer:

Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Building Services Engineering or equivalent in MHKIE, Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services disciplineNot less than 6 years of relevant working experience including 3 years on-site experience in Electrical, Mechanical and Building Services construction works.

Resident Building Services Inspector / Resident Assistant Building Services Inspector:

Diploma or High Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services from Hong Kong Polytechnic University/Polytechnic or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education/Technical College/Technical Institute, or equivalentNot less than 6 years of relevant working experience including 3 years on-site experience in supervision of Electrical, Mechanical and Building Services construction works. 3 years of relevant post-qualification local experience for Resident Assistant Building Services InspectorRegistered electrical worker will be preferable.

This position will be on a contract basis to work at a development site in Hong Kong International Airport for 38 months which may be lengthened or shortened subject to project development. Attractive remuneration package with gratuity will be offered to the successful candidates.
