We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Fixed Income Trader.

Principal Responsibilities

The Hong Kong Fixed Income trading desk is looking for a new trader responsible for executing cash bonds: Credit/Rates, forex, derivatives and time deposits. The candidate must ensure best execution; build strong counterparty relationships, support portfolio managers and the Head of Trading. The candidate must be able to provide adequate back up for other roles and functions performed on the Trading Desk.

Execute Fixed Income trades including hard/ local currency bonds, forex, derivatives and time deposits Build and maintain close relationships with Portfolio Managers Make efforts to remain aware of all economic and financial news and data likely to affect the market Support senior traders and actively contribute to the investment process Communicate market information to PM but also seek for market opportunities and alternative ideas Monitor trading activities, ensure best execution at all times and justify alerts (BTCA& BestX) Take ownership in enhancement projects Analyse, innovate and develop the best global trading protocols in all asset classes Stay abreast of technical developments with vendors and brokers Help automate and industrialize our trading flows Source market liquidity, attain price discovery, market timing and deciding on the level of urgency required Offer solutions to improve efficiency with regard to procedures, processes and trading protocols Requirements 1-3 years’ Trading experience at a buy side or sell side institution Graduate Degree or masters educated with significant experience in investment management Highly capable communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with FO teams(PM) and external counterparties Strong knowledge and understanding of fixed income, trading practices in particular less liquid Fixed Income assets Excellent IT skills; Excel, Bloomberg and trading platforms Languages English and preferably Cantonese and/or Mandarin Strong understanding and interested in financial markets Confident, articulate with the ability to thrive under pressure Team oriented SFC licensed Paper 1 is required
