The Aerodynamic, Acoustic and Noise control Technology Centre () has carried out aerodynamic-based collaborative research with local sports teams/associations in performance sports engineering over the past 4 years. The sport types include cycling, triathlon and windsurfing. The research team has been developing tailored sensor systems to monitor the aerodynamic and motion metrics during athlete training for effective feedback and enhancement of the athletic performance. The appointee will contribute to the software development and optimization of miniaturized sensor system that will be installed on the sport equipment during field training.

The research works may include one or more of the areas below:

Design and develop real-time data display software on PCs or mobile platforms for sensor systems.Develop real-time display for human-involved wind tunnel test.Develop software to communicate with sports sensors using ANT+ and BLE.Develop data acquisition software for tailored sports testing equipment.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree or above in computer, software engineering, IT, telecommunications engineering, robotics, electronics engineering, computer science, or big data.Familiar with but not limited to one or more of the following programming languages: Swift, C++, JAVA, Python or LabVIEW and with good programming habits.Familiar with the principles of TCP/IP protocol, UDP protocol, Bluetooth BLE and other common applications and protocols.Able to work independently, and keen on new technologies. Familiar with data structures and algorithms.Experience in IT application software, Internet software, IOS/Android and other related product development.Familiar with front-end development technologies such as JS, AS, AJAX, HTML5 and CSS.Familiar with user interface design software.Proficient in written and spoken English is a must and in Putonghua preferred.

(Duration: 1 year, renewable) 

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided where applicable.
