Partner Solutions Architect

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

In this technical role, you will architect enterprise-grade Data & Analytics, AI/ML, GenAI solutions, own the technical relationship and deliverables with partners, develop and execute multi-day workshops, lead white boarding sessions, author white papers and blog posts, and respond to complex technical inquiries. You will partner with Professional Services, Marketing, Business Development, and AWS Service teams to accelerate partner’s AWS services adoption.

Working with partners is a team effort that will require influence and coordination with many stakeholders to collaborate on solutions. These engagements will focus on real time and batch-based big data processing, business intelligence, visualizations, and data analytics with advanced services like AI/ML and GenAI. If you are a problem solver with data & analytics technical skills and have the ability to drive technical initiatives and cloud migration projects with partners, you will enjoy this role.

The ideal candidate will possess partner facing skills that will allow them to represent Amazon well within a partner environment and drive discussions with senior personnel within the company, as well as a technical background of Agile methodologies with the ability to apply these practices to Data & Analytics projects that enables them to easily interact and give guidance to technical stakeholders. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.

Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a key technical member of the Solutions Architecture team in helping to enable partners and ensure partner success in building partner practice, capabilities, and solutions on the AWS platform
- Design customer solutions with partners using AWS Data Analytics services
- Scope each partner engagement, with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives and success criteria
- Own each technical enablement and engagement, and help ensure a timely and successful delivery of value (delivery of actual solutions to be done by AWS partners)
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the solution architect community
- Evangelize AWS Data & Analytics services to share best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers and reference architectures, as well as public-speaking events such as AWS Summits, AWS re:Invent etc.
- Understand the AWS market segments, customer base, and industry verticals
- Coach and enable partners on an ongoing basis to adopt AWS innovations for Data & Analytics workloads
- Assist partners in pursuits and enable them to win the business independently

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or 8+ year’s work experience in technical role in lieu of no Bachelor’s degree.
- Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers
- Deep understanding of database and analytics technologies such as Analytics presentation layer including dashboards, reporting, and OLAP.
- Implementation and tuning experience of Data Warehouse / Data Lake platforms, including knowledge of Data Warehouse schema design, query tuning and optimization, and data migration and integration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Ability to communicate fluently in Cantonese, Mandarin and English, in technical and business settings (verbal and written)
- Experience working within partner and consulting organizations
- Experience with any programming or scripting language
- AWS Certification, e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Professional and/or other Data Analytics and ML specialty certifications is preferred
- Experience in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML)
