Research AssistantResponsibilities

Conduct hands-on lab scale polymerizations.Setup and conduct experiments, perform relevant application and analytical testing in the laboratory, following set procedures. Work is typically peer reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall accuracy and adequacy.Translate new product requirements into actionable work plans.Understand and scope experimental design objectives, gather and analyze data, develop findings, prepare technical reports to be shared both inter-organizationally and with external customers.Transfer knowledge to project teams and R&D community via presentations, technical reviews and day-to-day interaction.Work closely with project team members and key partners of other departments, including marketing, quality, process engineering, operations and supply chain to ensure favorable R&D project outcomes and product launches.Coach technician and lab support colleagues.Conduct travel (up to 20%) for the purposes of gathering customer needs, performing experimental trials and team collaboration.Qualifications

Master of Science degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. PhD preferred.Hands-on experience in battery research and development (e.g. Li-ion electrolytes, Li metal anodes, silicon anodes, separators, binders, and COF).Deep understanding of electrochemistry, battery materials, and energy storage systems. Knowledge of structure-property relationships for conjugated polymers.Ability to manage multiple technical projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment, managing changing priorities.Experience in commercial product development in the battery industry.The ability to assess and comprehend, often poorly defined, customer requirements and translate them into actionable strategies for polymer design and testing.Proven knowledge and hands-on experience with battery testing, materials characterization methods (e.g. XRD, TEM, EIS), and fabrication processes.Seniority Level
