The Arlington Central School District is currently looking to hire

Bus Monitors

for the start of the 2024/2025 school year. This position involves responsibility for the routine supervision and care of school-age children as well as the maintenance of order and discipline in a school vehicle.Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:Maintaining order on and around school buses;Intervening in confrontations and student fights if necessary, attempting to calm students;Escorting students to and from special appointments;Monitoring students in parking lots and supervising the loading of buses;Assisting in rendering first aid emergencies;Informing superiors of observations of student behavior;Related work as required.Application Process:Complete online application

apply for the position.Upload cover letter and references.Minimum Requirements:Must be able to pass the required NYS Education Department Physical Performance Test, which includes many standards including dragging a 125 lb. bag 30 feet in 30 seconds.Able to get along well with school-aged children.Good observation, tact, good judgment, and courtesy.
