Job PurposeCo-lead the forecasting and planning processSupport the broader Actuarial team where required including assisting with valuations, reporting, reinsurance activities and/or capital managementResponsibilitiesCo-ownership of the end-to-end forecasting and planning process including conducting experience studies, data integrity checks, updating assumptions, model rollover with actual data, liaising with other teams, responding to queries, documentation and compliance with internal guidelines and policies, presentation of results to Actuarial Managers, Actuarial Director and other senior stakeholdersCoordinate model updates with junior staff, while also able to operate the planning modelsEffectively manage timelines and deadlines to ensure all deliverables are met comfortably avoiding last minute workApply the actuarial control cycle to continually improve and refine the model and assumptionsConduct variance analysis to explain movements and convey this to senior management in an easy-to-understand wayContribute to Board and management reportingSupport the broader Actuarial team where required. Other tasks may include but are not limited to IFRS and Solvency II reporting, capital management and solvency projections, stress and scenario testing and systems/transformations developmentOther tasks as directed by the Director of ActuarialQualifications, Training and ExperienceQualified Fellow member of internationally recognised actuarial body. Close to Fellow member will be considered.Minimum of 4 years’ experience on modelling, forecasting or technical role in an insurance company or consulting firm. More experienced candidate will be considered on Assistant Manager level.Good progress in Actuarial professional examination.Strong story telling skills both verbal and writtenStrong stakeholder management skills, with experience managing relationships with staff at all levels of the organisation from junior analyst to MDResponsive with a can-do attitudeHands on and ready to get into the detailsResponsible, accountable and takes ownership of tasksBupa offers 5 days’ work per week and comprehensive remuneration packages including base salary, study assistance plan, company pension plan, life and medical benefit, dental benefit, annual leave, examination leave, etc.Bupa is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from qualified candidates.
