  about the job
  

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for construction projects. Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction phase, including tracking variations and managing change orders.
  • Review and administer contracts, including subcontractor agreements and purchase orders. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and manage contractual risks. Handle claims and disputes in a proactive manner.
  • Participate in the procurement process, including sourcing and selecting subcontractors and suppliers. Evaluate quotations, negotiate contracts, and manage the procurement schedule.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including cost forecasts, cash flow projections, and progress payment applications. Monitor project financial performance and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality. Collaborate with the project team to explore alternative construction methods, materials, and design solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and communication throughout the project lifecycle. Attend site meetings and provide cost-related advice and support.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks related to cost, contract, and commercial aspects. Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard project profitability.

    skills & experiences required.
    

    • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
    • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a main contractor environment.
    • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost control methodologies.
    • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
    • Proficient in using relevant software and tools, such as cost estimating software and project management systems.
    • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
