As a Reserving Analyst, you will join the Finance function, working besides experienced actuaries, supporting Reserving analysis, and providing Reserving insight directly to the business. The role is expected to be a strong development platform for future roles – the candidate will be expected to be actively studying actuarial exams, and proactively developing on-the-job knowledge. The role will provide exposures to senior stakeholders, including the CFO.

 

Job Requirementies

  • Supporting Reserving analysis, communication, and output for various lines of business – developing and applying technical and business skills
  • Supporting regular and clear communication to senior stakeholders (internally, regulators, auditors), using Reserving insight to identify the strategic actions we can take to improve our business
  • Coordinating with other Finance and wider business colleagues to help manage the Reserving quarterly close, and identify issues/roadblocks before they happen
  • Development of efficient processes to tightly integrate our processes/data/knowledge into the future reporting framework
  • Support development of RBC production implementation – this is an opportunity to learn about a complex new area of the HK insurance world
  • Develop an understanding of both IFRS 17 and RBC analysis – with the aim of supporting future development in these areas.
  • Support other Reserving tasks – audit, P&R, Planning etc…

Job Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail, curious and enthusiastic to understand all details of your work
  • Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer science or a related subject
  • At least 2 years of experience in an actuarial role within P&C insurance
  • Part-qualified status with one of the major Actuarial bodies, and pursuing full qualification
  • Strong analytical and problems solving skills is essential
  • Knowledge of both IFRS 17 and RBC would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of any of ResQ, VBA, R, SQL would be beneficial
  • Strong English language communication skills, and ideally Cantonese or Mandarin skills
